Spotlight on skills and qualifications
Europe is currently celebrating its second Vocational Skills Week. Until tomorrow, hundreds of activities across Europe will be promoting vocational education and training (VET) as effective ways of upgrading career paths. Upskilling and retraining are also important in order to ease and accelerate the participation of newcomer third country nationals in the European labour market. See projects revealing their talents
Last week, the European Commission launched the final version of its Skills Profile Tool for Third Country Nationals. The tool maps out their qualifications, work experiences and professional aspirations. More than an online resume, it serves as a basis for issuing personalised advice on further steps towards labour market and societal integration. Watch the tutorial
If you would like to discuss how skills development is an opportunity to overcome obstacles migrants face to find employment or to reflect on solutions to other challenges hindering their labour market integration, please express your interest to the 4th Migration Forum.
